ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Earlier this morning at 2:00 a.m. a storm swept through Pleasant Farm and damaged homes and power lines — the Red Cross set up a support station at Wilson’s Corner while Wilson’s Corner Grocery provided breakfast and a place to rest with no injuries reported.  CBS7

CRIME NEWS

  • Authorities arrested a 30-year-old Odessa man early Sunday for allegedly threatening a woman with a knife near Centergate and North Highway 385 around 7 a.m.—he is held on charges of two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and evading arrest with $110,000 bail pending further proceedings.  Odessa American
  • DPS warned parents today about rising reports of minors driving golf carts and ATVs in areas such as Kent Kwik near Dorado and neighborhoods near the country clubs in Odessa, while officials stressed that these vehicles are not made for public roads+ drivers can face citations for lacking a driver's license, registration, or insurance. This advisory comes as summer break has led to increased risky behavior among youth with off-highway vehicles.  CBS7

  • Local leaders met with Congressman August Pfluger and House energy committee members on June 3 at the Odessa Marriott—Odessa Mayor Cal Hendrick and Midland Mayor Lori Blong stressed a united oil policy to protect the Permian Basin’s economy.
