- ➤ The mother of an Odessa High School student filed a lawsuit alleging that principal Anthony Garcia ran over her 14-year-old son with an ATV during recess on Sept. 15 while he played football on campus - she is seeking $250,000-$1 million in damages. Odessa American
- ➤ On Friday, an Odessa man, Jose Ramiro Ley, was arrested after he found his wife at a friend’s house on Pueblo Street and threatened both her and the homeowner with a loaded handgun, police said—he was released Monday after posting $130,000 bond. Odessa American
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Teachers at the Transition Learning Center received grants from the Education Foundation to help students learn practical life and job skills—helping fund a simulated classroom debit card system for budgeting, chicken care for homesteading, woodshop safety training with a new planer, and culinary skills including food handler certification.
