- ➤ Reflection Ministries is hosting its first Wrap for a Reason event to offer free gift wrapping and thank community supporters. The service began Tuesday in Midland and continues today (Thursday, Dec. 11) at Frost Bank on Faudree Road in Odessa. CBS7
- ➤ Volunteers from elementary age and older joined the World Mission Society Church of God for its 9,112th community cleanup Sunday in Odessa — an effort to beautify neighborhoods and share a service mission following the church’s President’s Volunteer Service Award. CBS7
ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ A Permian High student was hit by a car on Dec 2 in the school parking lot after slipping while running. Officials quickly examined him and sent him to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries while the district clarified earlier reports involving the student driver and apologized for the confusion. HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Ector County health officials say a local child under 5 died on Nov. 3 from complications of Streptococcus pneumoniae infection (the county’s first pediatric case this year) and urge residents to stay up to date on pneumococcal vaccinations. NewsWest9
