- ➤ Western Midstream donated ($25,000) to the West Texas Food Bank after winning the Permian Basin Cook-Off yesterday, which helped the food bank buy (30,000 pounds) of food for local families during the busy holiday season. CEO Libby Stephens said the gift boosted supplies as the food bank recovered after a government shutdown. CBS7
- ➤ The Salvation Army of Midland/Odessa launched its Angel Tree program to provide Christmas gifts for over 1,750 children in need. Community members may adopt an angel at local malls + Walmart stores until Dec 10, and gifts will be distributed on Dec 18-19. CBS7
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ The Globe Theater at Odessa College is hosting the Odessa Shakespeare Festival with two plays — Shakespeare’s Greatest Hits and Julius Caesar — that will run Friday and Saturday. The event is the final tour stop on the Texas Shakespeare Festival and is a joint effort by Odessa Arts, Odessa College, and the Texas Shakespeare Festival, with cast meet-and-greets planned after the shows. ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ GasBuddy reported that gas prices in Midland-Odessa increased 20.4 cents per gallon over the past week to average $2.65 on Monday. Prices are 6.6 cents lower than a month ago and 4 cents higher than last year (with the lowest and highest station prices at $2.32 and $2.89 per gallon). CBS7
