- ➤ Avery Wagner (Humane Society representative) urged the Odessa community today to donate funds to prevent the shelter's possible closure (over 200 animals may be moved to shelters without a no-kill policy). NewsWest9
ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ A new science well has been set up at 2nd and Jefferson in downtown Odessa to collect data on oil reserves beneath the city—local business owners report unusual vibrations, smells, and noise. City officials say the project is in an early research phase and expect progress by 2026. CBS7
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Ector County ISD broke ground on a new transition learning center at 1118 West 12th Street to teach young adults with special needs basic life skills for independent living. The $8 million, 45,000-square-foot facility+ built on about an acre is expected to open in the next 9 to 12 months. CBS7
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Midland County Road and Bridge Department will begin major reconstruction on South County Road 1110 in the Greenwood area Monday, Nov. 17 — phase one will cover FM 307 to East County Road 110 and close that section until Jan. 30, while phase two is expected to finish about April. Drivers will see detour signs and are advised to plan extra travel time for the ongoing work. CBS7
