- ➤ Hundreds will gather in Odessa Saturday, October 25th at Memorial Garden Park for the Out of the Darkness Walk organized by the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention to honor loved ones and raise funds for free mental health education and suicide prevention programs. Registration begins at 9 a.m. and participants will support the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline + help break the stigma around mental health. NewsWest9

- ➤ Texas’ newest Bass Pro Shops will open next week in Odessa at 8420 E. Highway 191 after a ribbon cutting ceremony at 6 p.m. on Oct.29 for its Evening for Conservation event — the 100,000 square foot store features a 20,000 gallon aquarium with 180 fish and will include appearances by noted outdoor champions. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Odessa city officials announced the Yukon Pump Station project is nearly complete at 99% with a new 2-million-gallon ground storage tank and a pump that moves up to 3,600 gallons per minute. The upgrade will improve water pressure for homes and businesses on the north side—paving the way for a future elevated water tower design. CBS7
- ➤ The intersection at W 10th St & Harless Ave will be closed for the next three weeks starting Monday, October 27 due to a utilities installation project by Edgardo Mardrid & Associates with the City of Odessa. Drivers should follow the detour set by the city during this time. CBS7
