- ➤ Meals on Wheels of Odessa said its funding is secure through next fall and will continue delivering meals to seniors during the federal government shutdown. The organization reassured clients that there will be no interruption in service. NewsWest9

- ➤ The Permian Basin Steps Network presented at Midland College on Tuesday to promote safe driving and work habits in the oil and gas industry—advising workers to wear seat belts, avoid distractions, and stop work when conditions are unsafe. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ The Odessa Police Department Hazardous Devices Unit visited the UTPB Stem Academy 5th Grade Invention Convention on October 14, demonstrating drones and bomb squad robots to show how police use technology for public safety. The students will soon begin a challenge to design an invention that meets a community need+ the event sparks their interest in future projects. City of Odessa

- ➤ Montessori Mastery School of Odessa applied to be a Turning Point USA Education school—co-director Randy McGuire said the school will blend this curriculum with regular lessons so that students can learn about freedom, free market, and small government while parents can opt out.
