- ➤ The Oktoberfest Vendor and Car Show will be held on October 5, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the VFW Post 4149—registration starts at 1 p.m. with a $20 fee for cars and $15 for bikes, and the event will feature authentic German food, fun games, and an award ceremony at 5 p.m. CBS7

GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ State Representative Brooks Landgraf announced today he secured $17 million in the state budget to fund water infrastructure improvements in Ector County & expand water access for West Odessans. NewsWest9
- ➤ Natera Exavation is set to perform utility work on the intersection of 10th St and N Lee, and as a result 10th St between N Lee and N Lincoln is closed for through traffic (drivers should use alternate routes and plan for extra travel time). CBS7
- ➤ Councilman Craig Stoker launched an anonymous survey today to gather local input on renaming Maple Street to Charlie Kirk Way — preliminary responses show roughly two-thirds of residents oppose the change and the results will be discussed at the next council meeting. CBS7
- ➤ The City of Odessa announced that construction on Dorado Drive, between N. Faudree Road and Mission Blvd, will begin October 6 and run until January, with one lane in each direction remaining open. The project will upgrade the drainage system and install low-maintenance landscaping—drivers should follow detour signs. CBS7
