The open house is scheduled for today at the Sunset Youth Golf Facility at 10 a.m. and will feature golf games, food trucks, live music, a petting zoo, face painting & giveaways, with attendees able to view future plans and donate toward needed items.

The Permian Basin rig count held at 268 rigs on Friday, while oil prices rose to $96.53 per barrel, up +$8.57 from last week.
The count marks an increase from 254 rigs a year ago and reflects ongoing strength in the region's oil market.
🏛️ Government
Governor Greg Abbott awarded the posthumous Star of Texas Award to fallen DPS Trooper Kevin Ramirez Vasquez during a ceremony in Austin on Sept.
11; the officer, killed on Sept. 24, 2024, is honored locally with Highway 302 near Notrees named as his memorial.
🏥 Health
Odessa Regional Medical Center is hosting a butterfly release event today for families who lost a child.
The ceremony takes place at Progressive Park in front of the West Campus from 10 a.m. to noon and welcomes community members to join in remembrance.
