- ➤ Charlie’s Cattle Co is open in Odessa as Texas Soul Café returns under a new name, replacing Linx bar and grill at Ratliff Ranch Golf Links with a soft opening on Wednesday that sold 200 plates. Owner Derrick Bush said the new name honors his grandfather (a former rodeo clown turned oil worker) and the grand opening celebration with Texas comfort food runs through Sunday (featuring a popular meatloaf). - ➤ The Odessa Police Department has warned drivers to use extreme caution on the IH-20 service roads in Southeast Odessa after stopping dozens of motorists going the wrong way. East of Grandview the roads are one-way (north and south) while west they remain two-way. Odessa American

- ➤ Odessa basketball player Deztanee Barrera is visiting local businesses with a heartfelt letter to raise funds for her college and basketball plans—she will attend Gogebic Community College this fall and is seeking help with meal plans, books, and travel costs.
