- ➤ Local law enforcement in Odessa are preparing for peaceful No Kings Day protests that will start 10 a.m. tomorrow along JBS Parkway and 42nd, while police stand ready to act if the events become disruptive. - ➤ TxDOT’s contractor shifted eastbound I-20 frontage road traffic to one travel lane with concrete barriers—access to driveways is maintained—for a project extending until Spring 2027. I-20 main lanes at Loop 338 will be closed from 7 p.m. on June 21 until 9 a.m. on June 22—traffic will be detoured to the frontage road—to allow barrier placement. Odessa American
- ➤ The Permian Basin Petroleum Association backed Senate Bill 7 and House Joint Resolution 7 to help meet Texas’s long-term water needs by proposing a constitutional amendment on the Nov. 4 ballot that will commit $1 billion each year into the Texas Water Fund, adding to $2.5 billion set aside under SB 7. Lawmakers also passed measures to modernize water infrastructure and clarify oil and gas liability—steps that will support future investment in the region. Odessa American
