- ➤ Odessa police asked for help identifying two men accused of robbery at Jaguars—both suspects were seen in a Chevrolet Blazer after trying to use stolen credit cards at the Pilot Travel Center. CBS7
- ➤ Amber Martin, 39, was arrested on Monday on a robbery charge after police said she pushed and punched a neighbor who asked her to leave a property—her bail was set at $15,000 and she was previously arrested for trespassing. Odessa American

- ➤ TexasWorks is set to open 20 new campuses in 2025—including one in Odessa—to help local adults earn diplomas and career certifications. - ➤ UTPB today announced that Dr. Rafic “Ray” Bachnak is the first dean of the new College of Engineering and Sciences and that Dr. Ansley Chua is the new dean of the College of Business. - ➤ Odessa High School hosted a fine arts signing ceremony on May 14th at its Performing Arts Center, where 54 seniors committed to college and received over $117,150 in scholarships and grants. Head Choir Director Ginger Storey, OHS Principal Hector Limon, and Ector County ISD’s Executive Director of Fine Arts Aaron Hawley celebrated students in music, art, band, guitar, mariachi, choir and dance—marking the fifth year of the annual event. - ➤ The City of Odessa received reports of low water pressure on the east side after a contractor accidentally struck a water line yesterday—city crews worked to repair the line and restore normal service. Odessa American
- ➤ Tuesday night, the city council voted unanimously to issue a 45-day notice to provide $40 million in certificates of obligation for a $130 million sports complex on the north side while the remaining funds will be covered by leftover obligation funds, general funds & hotel occupancy taxes. Councilmembers said the plan, which includes a future 2% venue tax on hotel rooms to raise about $1.9 million a year, will let construction begin by September 1 and is expected to boost the local economy with $60 million in indirect benefits annually.
