- ➤ Registrations are filling up for the 12th Annual Bustin’ for Badges Clay Shoot, which will run from April 30 through May 2 in Odessa and benefit the Odessa Police Department, Midland Police Department, Ector County Sheriff's Office and Midland County Sheriff's Office. A session on Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. remains available while nearly all sessions on Thursday and every rotation on Friday have sold out—participants may register by calling 432-335-3322. - ➤ Three men face capital murder charges after an eight-year-old boy died from a gunshot wound to the head sustained at an apartment complex on the 1000 block of W. Monahans on April 7—two suspects were arrested earlier and a third was taken on April 14, though his role remains unclear. NewsWest9
- ➤ An Odessa man was arrested Sunday morning after confessing to stabbing his 59-year-old father near the 1000 block of Garnet—police said he was taken into custody with bail set at $50,000. Odessa American
- ➤ On Sunday, a 45-year-old Odessan was booked into Ector County jail after a family said he threatened them with a rifle—police said the suspect drove a Chevrolet Impala that cut off a couple leaving a west side H-E-B, parked by a home, and then ran after their car while holding the rifle as they traveled with a 15-year-old girl and a 9-year-old boy—following a 9-1-1 call around 2:30 p.m. Odessa American
