EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Ector ISD and the Education Foundation of Odessa announced a one-million-dollar plan to update school libraries (beginning with Murry Fly Elementary) to create inviting spaces that will boost student reading and improve learning; further renovations will follow in phases. CBS7
- ➤ Ector County ISD earned a 2026 Award of Merit for Purchasing Operations from the Texas Association of School Business Officials during their February conference + the honor was noted at a recent school board meeting for upholding professional standards in school purchasing. Odessa American
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Odessa Links announced on Thursday, March 26 that its annual PIT count captured 183 unsheltered residents across Ector County, including 15+ children, 14+ veterans, and 51+ chronically homeless individuals. The survey expanded into West Odessa, but many residents were missed due to their mobility. CBS7
