Grand Companions is hosting a series of pet adoption events this week across West Texas. They are holding a pet walk today at Sibley Nature Center in Midland from 9 to 10 a.m., a pet adoption event in Odessa at Petco from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. this Sunday, and an event at the Midland Downtown Farmers Market on Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon.

Two weeks after his March 13 arrest on suspicion of public intoxication, Ebony Wigfall was arrested early Tuesday morning on a felony drug charge when a University of Texas Permian Basin officer stopped his Chevrolet Tahoe traveling in the wrong direction on Highway 191 near the Billy Hext exit, finding a glass pipe with residue and 5.5 grams of a rock-like substance—his bond was set at $25,000.
